Most of our June was spent playing outside. I babysat my nephew Dallin for the summer which was fun for Skylar so he could spend some time with him before he moved.
We celebrated Skylar's 4th birthday. I see all sorts of cute cakes all over the blog world, but I don't know how to do that, nor do I ever have any time, so my kids get cake from a box with frosting from a container on the top :). And of course he got the fun presents.
June was also Father's Day. I gave Jason a picture frame with each kids picture in it holding up a letter that spelled out DAD. I also made one for my dad. They turned out super cute and was really inexpensive. While I was taking the pictures (which took forever with Katie) I also snapped a few group ones.
Katie was obviously sick of taking pictures. And lastly we went and spent a day up in Logan with Jason's sister and her kids at the pool.

May was a busy month. It started out with Katie at the doctor again. Poor thing is always there :(. She had a really bad rash that I had to get checked out a couple of times. We found out that she is allergic to strawberries, which is so sad because she LOVES them! It was also the beginning of T-ball season. Brynlee loved playing, but at the end of the season she told me she would rather dance. Oh well, it was worth a try :). Skylar also liked playing, but also like rough housing with the boys on his team. It was a challenge to get him to focus.
Here is a random of picture of Katie just relaxing in my suitcase. We were able to take a much needed vacation with the kids up to West Yellowstone in the middle of May. Jason and I hadn't been there since our honeymoon. It was so much fun and the kids did so good. We were able to visit lots of the sights in the park and we really enjoyed ourselves.
Of course we got to see Old Faithful.

We saw a ton of different animals, but our favorite was the bear. And last but not least, May celebrated the last day of school. Brynlee had a hard time. She actually cried because she missed her teacher. Too funny. :()

Easter and April

I can not believe that summer came and went just like that and I did not post one thing. Since my sister just moved to Michigan, she thinks it would be a good idea if I actually did a little posting every now and then. I am sure that my mother-in-law in Oregon wouldn't mind either. So I am going to do a quick catch up over the next couple of days, just to keep me organized, and then go from there. First I will start with Easter. We were going to head to Boise, but Katie got pretty sick, so we ended up staying home. Jason and I ended up getting really sick on Easter day, so we stayed in bed. Luckily my sister came over to entertain :)
My grandpa's birthday is in April, so Bryn thought it would be nice to bring some flowers to his grave. My kids love going to the cemetery! The kids got some kites for Easter and so they spent some time flying them in the field behind the house.

The last fun thing we did in April was spend a day at the safety fair. The kids got to check out a fire truck and helicopter and play some fun games. They even both got helmets.

Katie is one!

Last Friday Katie turned one! On Sunday we had a little party with my family. She loved the cupcakes! The gifts were a little hard for her. She would rip a little piece of the paper and then look at me to make sure she wasn't doing anything bad. She was too funny!
She went to her appointment on Monday. She weighed in at 20lbs 10oz and was 29ins long, both 43%. She wasn't able to get any shots because she was starting to get ANOTHER ear infection, so she gets to go in again next week. We are so lucky to have this little girl in our family. She is so happy and smiley all the time! She can't walk yet but that doesn't seem to stop her from getting where she wants to go. She says a few words like dada or dad, mom, bye, what's that, uh-oh, and Tyler. She loves to waive, play patty cake, and give hugs and open mouthed kisses. Her favorite things are her binkie, her blankie, and her piggy. We love you Katie and we are so blessed that you are in our lives! After her party, she was ready for everyone to just leave her alone. So funny! Only 6 more months until nursery. The countdown begins!

Hot Dog Squids

My friend Megan has a food blog here where I saw these cute Hot Dog Squids. We made them this afternoon and my kids loved them. Great idea!
The kids loved them! And yes Brynlee is still in her PJ's at 11:30. Isn't having afternoon kindergarten so convenient? And here is a random picture of Katie since she wasn't able to participate.

I am no good at blogging. I think I am the last person in the blogging world to even mention Christmas. Since Christmas seems like a million years ago, I am going to just throw out one Christmas picture and move on. Here are my kiddos on the Sunday before Christmas in their cute church outfits: Adorable I know! :)
Jason just recently put our pictures from Christmas until now on our computer. So here are a few things we have been up to.
I was able to help out with Brynlee's Valentine's party at school. It took some stressful planning, but turned out pretty fun.
The kids were so cute and polite! I had been thinking about going back to school for awhile now. Right before the party I had decided to go for early elementary education (over some business degree which I was aiming for before kids and marriage). After the party I knew for sure that is what I wanted to do. So, back to school in the fall for me :).
We have been having monthly FHE's with my whole family for a little while now. My sister, Nicole did the lesson for February about the Armor of God and it was so cute. We were in 3 teams and had to dress-up the kids in their Armor. I was on the team that dressed Skylar and of course he looked the best! And as you can see, the team who dressed my nephew Dallin was struggling a little with being creative!!!
I celebrated my 27th birthday in February. I can't believe that I am so old now that when someone asks me my age, I actually can't remember. It is so sad. Jason got me an iPod touch for my birthday. It took me a while to get into it, but now I love it! (and so do my children, unfortunately). Also, little miss Katie turns one in two weeks which is crazy to me. I remember the day I showed up at Jason's work with the pee stick totally shocked that I was pregnant! Now I don't know what I would do without her! I wish the kid would walk already. Brynlee and Sky were both walked before 11 months, but Kate has no desire. She will be one of those kids who starts nursery and is still crawling. Other than that, nothing new.

Thankgiving 2009

This year was a great Thanksgiving. We were able to spend it with both my family and Jason's family. Jason's mom and step-dad were in town for Sheena's baby, so everyone came over to my mom's for dinner. Everyone was there except my sister, Nicole, and her family, and my brother Lewis who is service a mission. It was a great day with yummy food and wonderful family!

Thanksgiving week

I think I am the very last person in the blog world to actually post about Thanksgiving. Oh well. The week of Thanksgiving started off great with a new baby being added to our family. Jason's sister, Sheena, had her second daughter that Sunday. She is a doll!!! They named her Allie. She is Jason's mom and dad's 8th grand kid. On Tuesday, Bryn was super excited to dress up like an Indian for the Thanksgiving celebration at school. She looked great! Thanks to my Aunt Jenny for letting us use the outfit! Also on Tuesday, Katie and I made trip up to Logan to have lunch with my JTO friends. It was so much fun talking to everyone. I seriously miss those girls! We need to do that way more often! That night we went to the Grand Opening of the new Boondocks in Kaysville. The kids had the best time and the food was delicious!

Some of Jason's extended family flew in to town to be there (Jason's uncle owns it), so it was great seeing everyone, especially Jason's Grandma. Jason was also able to see some co-worker from Colorado, too. Sheena's husband, Isaac, overlooked the whole project and he did a great job! If you have a chance to go, you should. It has a ton of stuff to do for everyone! On Wednesday, we went with Jason's mom and step dad to the Hill Aerospace Museum. I had never been there before. It was awesome. It is crazy some of the stuff people have done as service for our country. It definitely made me grateful to live in the USA!

It's a princess party!

I love having Brynlee in school. She is making so many friends. So when she said she wanted to have a party, she knew exactly who she was going to invite. And of course the theme had to be princess. In the invitations, we told the girls to wear their princess dresses. They were so cute! We played some games, made picture frames and bracelets, had cake and ice cream, opened presents, and of course danced! Here are the girls decorating their frames: We had taken individual pictures of them for their frames. Here is how they turned out: They were so funny when it was time to open presents. It was like they couldn't get close enough! All of her friends were so generous! I think Brynlee had a blast! Thanks to my mom and Nicole for helping out! We love our Brynlee-lu-hu and can't believe she is six! Even though she can get quite sassy, she is usually a huge help and I don't know what I would do without her. Love you Bryn and Happy Birthday!!!

Pumpkin Walk

Every year that we have been married, Jason and I have gone to the pumpkin walk in Logan. I think I like it because it is the first time each year that we get to get all bundled up. When we went this year it was snowing and freezing! It was fun as always and my kids had a blast. Afterwards we all went over to Stacey's for some chili and spice cake for Bryn and Jason's birthday.

Halloween 2009

On Halloween, Jason's mom and step-dad were in town for the week. On Saturday morning we headed up to Logan to see them and Jason's sisters. We had lunch at Juniper take-out (which I love and totally miss!). Then we took the kids trick or treating down Main Street. It was such a nice day and the kids had a ball! All us right before we went.

After we were done, we headed over to Jason's grandparents house to say hi and see his dad. When his dad came in with his costume on, Bryn and Sky wanted nothing to do with him. Skylar was so scared he was on the verge of tears! But Katie didn't seem to mind. I love going to Jason's grandparents house. It has the most beautiful view! This is what I got to look at while I was nursing! The most amazing view of the Logan Temple. Jason and I lived in Cache Valley most of our marriage, and while I was living there you would have never heard me say "I want to live here forever!" But now that I don't, I seriously miss it. What other place can you go to the pumpkin walk, trick or treating down main street and have views like that.(Plus some of my favorite girls live there...you know who you are ;)) The kids with Jason's grandparents. After that, we headed back to Ogden to go trick or treating in Plain City. Jason's mom & step dad and sister came back with us. My camera died so I wasn't able to get any pictures, but trust me, the kids made a haul. It was a great day! I personally think that Halloween should be on a Saturday every year!

Kindergarten Festivities

I need to play blog catch-up. I am going to start with Bryn's fun school activities. Her birthday party was before this, but the pictures are on another computer, so I will have to just post that tomorrow.
On the 29th Brynlee turned 6! It is so crazy to me. These last 6 years have flown by. And if the next 6 years go just as fast, I will have a 12 year old before I know it. Scary! It was her special day at school on her birthday. She made a little book about herself and made a paper doll of herself and then presented it to the class. Then the teacher gave the class a little quiz about what they learned. It was too cute! Then she introduced her family to them. I wish I would have gotten a picture of all of us there, but I didn't, so I just took pictures of her being the helper as we were leaving.
It was wear your jersey day at school for red ribbon week so she got to show everyone how she bleeds purple :).
On Friday the 30th, the school had the annual Halloween party. I got to volunteer, so I was able to watch Brynlee do all the activities.

Trunk or Treat

I know everyone is shocked that I have posted twice in one day! Amazing I know, but we are getting into that time of year where there is A LOT going on with stuff that I will want to post (since this is about the extent of scapbooking my memories:)) So I thought I better keep up with it. On Wednesday the YM/YW in our ward did truck or treat for all of the primary kids. The kids were excited to get their costumes out and get some candy. Katie was a little unsure about the tutu, but she had fun anyway!
The last week in October is always a super busy week for us. We have Brynlee and Jason's birthday, my mom's fun Halloween party, and of course trick or treating. This year we have to add in Brynlee's birthday party, her special day at school, and her Halloween Carnival at school. I hope everyone has a great Halloween week! It is the beginning of so many fun holidays!!! Let the festivities begin!!!

Pumpkin Patch

Last Saturday Jason & I took the family to a pumpkin patch in Syracuse. It was really fun except that it turned out to be like a million degrees. I think the kids favorite part was all of the slides.
They got to shoot corn cannons, ride a train, watch the pig races, and of course go through the corn maze! And then of course there was picking the pumpkins and coming home to carve them. It was a great day!

Brynlee got to dance at the Fremont football game a couple weeks ago with the Junior Silverline. She was so cute and did so well! She isn't as coordinated as she seems to think she is, but she had a ball.Katie turned 6 months in the middle of September. She is at such a fun age! She is crawling all over the place (army style...she can't seem to get those knees up) and is sitting up all by herself. She is eating solids now. She talks all day long and my favorite part of the day is right before she goes to bed at night because she thinks EVERYTHING is funny and laughs and giggles at everything we do. We sure love that girl! I know it is not the best picture, but it is the most recent. Plus I love her big eyes and her perfect little lips in it! She weighs 16lbs 15oz (75%) and is 27 1/2ins long (97%). As Brynlee would put it, she is "growing like a weed!"I have been so lucky to be married to this wonderful man for 7 years!!! (Lovely picture, huh? He never lets me take pictures of him, so this is what I have.) Last Sunday was our anniversary. We didn't do much since it was on a Sunday, but we did head down to SLC and Park City for a weekend 3 weeks ago for some relaxing and shopping :). I love this man and all he does for our little family. I can't wait to see what the future holds for us!

First day of school!

Bryn had her first day of school yesterday. She was so cute! I was asking her all weekend if she was nervous and she kept telling me no. On the way to school, she had a nervous look on her face and I asked what was wrong, and she said "I am really, really, really excited for school, but I am so shy." HAHA! So cute. She looked so cute hanging up her backpack and sitting at her desk. I asked her some questions and this is what she said:
What was your favorite part of school? Playing with Oaklie (her best friend) on the playground and drawing a picture.
What was the worst part of school? The slide was way too hot to go down and I was hungry. (I told her that if she didn't finish her lunch that she was going to get hungry, but she didn't listen! Now she knows!)
What did you think of the boys in you class? Nothing, they were too small (I assume that means short) or to fat. (Which is funny because all the little boys in her class were adorable!)
She can not wait to go again today! This year is going to be a blast. I am so glad that I finally get to stay home so I can go volunteer!!!

Hey all! I don't know why I haven't been keeping up on my blog. I could say that I am really, really busy, but that would be a huge lie! So there is really no excuse. I thought I would give a little update on how life is going and then hopefully stay on top of the blog.
Brynlee is starting Kindergarten on Monday! Yahoo! I know lots of moms get all sappy about their kiddos leaving for school, but I am not one of those moms. I can not wait! She is totally ready for it. She has been in daycare most of her life, so since I have been able to stay home, her life has come to a stop. I think she is in need of the social interaction. Plus, the fighting between her and Skylar is killing me, so I can't wait for that 3 hour break every day! We met her teacher this week and she is so nice. Brynlee has 3 little girls from the ward in her class, and her best friend, so she is pretty pumped!
Now, I would love to report that since Sky has turned 3 that he sleeps in his bed all night long. But I can't, since he doesn't. I seriously think I need to take that kid to a specialist. He is totally potty trained now. It worked out well because I didn't push him and just put unders on him one day and he has done well. He even wears them to bed! He is still my challenge in everything, but so cute at the same time! He is definitely a mama's boy. (Which is ok with me. And totally like Jason, who is also a mama's boy! :))
And then there is Katie. What can I say? She is the perfect baby. She now rolls EVERYWHERE! She is eating solids and loves them! She takes 3 naps a day and still sleeps 7 or 8 hour straight at night. She loves the bumboo and the jumperoo. She smiles at everyone. She is still nursing and I love it! Her only flaw is that she can't seem to keep poop in her diaper. It ALWAYS somehow comes out the back. It is almost a daily occurrence. Any suggestions on how to fix that would be very helpful!
Jason and I are glad to be back in Utah. Jason is in school at Weber State. Life is going great, thanks to our wonderful families!

Sky turned 3 on Monday. He had a great birthday this year. It started off with a fun weekend to Salt Lake with some of Jason's family. We went to the Spaghetti Factory and the Hoogle Zoo. I didn't bring my camera, so no pictures. On Monday, we just had a little party with just our small little family and my brother and sister. He wanted noodles for his birthday dinner, so we had some spaghetti. Here are some pictures of the get together.

Skylar is the craziest little kid! He is definitely our little trial, but at the same time one of our greatest blessings! We love you Sky!!!

I love that Katie has hair. (Bryn and Sky were both really bald.) Last night I put little pig tails in her hair. It looks a little fun because her forehead is so bald that I had to put the pig tails really far back, but she is still stinkin' cute!!!

Over Memorial weekend we blessed little Katie. We decided to have the blessing at my parents house. We kept it small and had just out immediate family there. Jason did a great job on the blessing! Katie, how is life treating you at the big 2 months?
Katie: Well, life is pretty good. I still have that head of hair that my mom absolutely loves. (Even though I have a big bald spot on the back and look kind of like an old man with a receding hair line.)I love to talk and tell everyone all kinds of things. I can roll to my sides. I think it makes mom a little nerves to leave me alone on a bed or couch for too long. I love to eat. I look a little chunky like my older brother did when he was my age. I already weigh a little over 10 lbs. I love to observe everything with my giant eyes! (I get that from my big sister.) I smile all the time, especially at Bryn and Sky. You can just tell that they love me a whole lot! I absolutely love my swing and would be in there all day if I could. My mom forced the binkie on me and now I love it, but I can not keep it in my mouth for the life of me. Hopefully I will get the hang of it soon. I love to sleep! I think I sleep about 18 hours or so of my day. I sleep better at night than my older brother. Last night I went to bed at 10:30 and didn't wake up until 6:30!!! So far life is great!!!

I miss chocolate!

About a month ago I started getting really bad stomach cramps at least twice a day. It would hurt so bad sometimes that it would leave me in tears. Those of you who know me well know that I have all sorts of digestive problems. I just assumed it had something to do with one of those already existing problems. But, I had never had problems in my stomach before. I had talked to my sister Nicole, who is a little lactose intolerant, and my Uncle, who is a nurse, and they both told me to try to stop eating lactose and see if that helped. I felt so much better. I was lactose free for about 3 days with no stomach cramps! I decided to try a little of a chicken roll to see what it would do and just to verify that that was the problem. I was so sick after eating that chicken roll, that I just know that I must be lactose intolerant. I pretty much have been starving ever since!!! I miss my chocolate! I have seen on the Internet that it is common for adults to get this, so I was wondering if any of you have this. Does anyone know of any good recipes for lactose free sweets? How about soy milk, is it any good? Are there any good websites that have good recipes??? I never realized how much dairy I eat until I can't anymore. At least I don't have stomach cramps!(Honestly I have been thinking about an entire digestive system transplant. Is that possible??? :))

It was a gorgeous day yesterday, so me and the kiddos went with one of my best friends, Megan, and her kids to the park. The kids all had fun with each other and it was great to catch up with her!!!

I didn't get a picture of Katie at the park, so I thought I would just post a random cute one of her. Later on yesterday, my kids were playing in my parents backyard. Sky had taken his shoes off to jump on the tramp. After he was done, he decided that he wanted to go in the field (next to their house) with Brynlee, without his shoes on. Well, the field is FULL of stickers and he got about 20 of them in his feet. I didn't realize he had gotten so many, since me and my sister only pulled out a couple. But this morning he had a bunch of little scabs all over his feet. It looks like he had the chicken pox. Poor little guy.

2 Week Appointment

I figured since Katie is almost 3 weeks old, I better post her 2 weeks stats from her appointment. She weighed in at 9lbs 1oz and is 21 inches. She is just growing and growing! Everything we have in newborn is getting a little snug. She is still such a good baby! She sleeps and eats well. The only problem we have been having is passing gas, but we will get through it. Here is a picture of her. I took it with my phone so it is a little blurry. I love those big full lips! (Just like her dad :))

Katie is finally here!

First, I just want say that I am proud of Jason for posting pictures of her. After a year and a half of having the blog, he finally did a post! We are having so much fun here with our new little baby. She is beautiful My induction was scheduled for Thursday at 5:00 am. We got there and they set me all up. When I got there I was already dilated to a 4 and the nurse said I was already in labor. So we knew it was going to go fast. They gave me the potocin at 6:00 and we were well on our way. I got my epidural at about 10:00 and it was not working! So they inserted me with more drugs and I couldn't feel a thing. I went right to sleep after that. At about 11:00 the nurse came in and asked if I was feeling pressure. I told her I felt a little, so she checked me and said "We need the Dr, the baby is coming right now!" Yahoo! It was so easy!!! By far the easiest and fastest labor yet. She was born at 11:23 weighing a whooping 8lbs 10 oz and 20 1/2 in long. She has this thick black hair and these beautiful blue eyes. She looks a lot like Sky did when he was born. She has been the best baby. She nurses like a dream and slept for 4 hours straight last night. She is very gassy, but it makes for a lot of cute smiles :)! I was able to go home after only 24 hours. My recovery has also been a piece of cake. Life is good. My kids love her and are doing pretty well. We are so grateful for our new happy, healthy baby. We love you Katie Bug!

Fun Visit, Aquarium, and Update

Jason's little sister Sheena and her daughter Cami were able to come spend the week with us. We had so much fun. It was interesting to see how Skylar acted with Cami. He was either super nice or super mean and jealous. Hopefully all goes well with his new baby sister. Cami is 13 months old and so little and petite. Jason could not get enough of her. She reminds us so much of how Brynlee was when she was that age. They have the same big blue eyes and Cami carries her blanket around and sucks on the corners just like Bryn used to do. I think it made Jason pretty excited to have another little daughter. Last night, we all went to the aquarium to see the fishies. It was fun to see the kids get all excited! I personally think that fish are gross and ugly, but they kids had a great time.

And last but not least, I had a doctors appointment yesterday. I finally got a scheduled date! March 12th is the big day. My mom and sister Candace are coming on Monday, so they will be here when she is born. I am so excited!!! I can not wait to meet this sweet baby!

Lesson 1
1. Go to the grocery store.
2. Arrange to have your salary paid directly to their head office.
3. Go home.

5. Read it for the last time.

Lesson 2
Before you finally go ahead and have children, find a couple who already are parents and berate them about their…
1. Methods of discipline
2. Lack of patience.
3. Appallingly low tolerance levels.
4. Allowing their children to run wild.
5. Suggest ways in which they might improve their child's breast feeding, sleep habits, toilet training, table manners, and overall behavior. Enjoy it because it will be the last time in your life you will have all the answers.

Lesson 3
A really good way to discover how the nights might feel…
1. Get home from work and
immediately begin walking around the living room from 5PM to 10PM carrying a wet bag weighing approximately 8-12 pounds, with a radio turned to static (or some other obnoxious sound) playing loudly. (Eat cold food with one hand for dinner)
2. At 10PM, put the bag gently down, set the alarm for midnight, and go to sleep.
3. Get up at 12 and walk around the living room again, with the bag, until 1AM.
4. Set the alarm for 3AM.
5. As you can't get back to sleep, get up at 2AM and make a drink and watch an infomercial.
6. Go to bed at 2:45AM.
7. Get up at 3AM when the alarm goes off.
8. Sing songs quietly in the dark until 4AM.
9. Get up. Make breakfast. Get ready for work and go to work (work hard and be productive)

Repeat steps 1-9 each night. Keep this up for 3-5 years. Look cheerful and together.

Lesson 4
Can you stand the mess children make? To find out…
1. Smear peanut butter onto the sofa and jam onto the curtains.
2. Hide a piece of raw chicken behind the stereo and leave it there all summer.
3. Stick your fingers in the flower bed.
4. Then rub them on the clean walls.
5. Take your favorite book, photo album, etc. Wreck it.
6. Spill milk on your new pillows. Cover the stains with crayons. How does that look?

Lesson 5
Dressing small children is not as easy as it seems.
1. Buy an octopus and a small bag made out of loose mesh.
2. Attempt to put the octopus into the bag so that none of the arms hang out.

Time allowed for this - all morning.

Lesson 6
Forget the BMW and buy a mini-van. And don't think that you can leave it out in the driveway spotless and shining. Family cars don't look like that.
1. Buy a chocolate ice cream cone and put it in the glove compartment. Leave it there.
2. Get a dime. Stick it in the CD player.
3. Take a family size package of chocolate cookies. Mash them into the back seat. Sprinkle cheerios all over the floor, then smash them with your foot.
4. Run a garden rake along both sides of the car.

Lesson 7
Go to the local grocery store.
Take with you the closest thing you can find to a pre-school child. (A full-grown goat is an excellent choice). If you intend to have more than one child, then definitely take more than one goat. Buy your week's groceries without letting the goats out of your sight.. Pay for everything the goat eats or destroys.

Until you can easily accomplish this, do not even contemplate having children.

Lesson 8
1. Hollow out a melon.
2. Make a small hole in the side.
3. Suspend it from the ceiling and swing it from side to side.
4. Now get a bowl of soggy Cheerios and attempt to spoon them into the swaying melon by pretending to be an airplane.
5. Continue until half the Cheerios are gone.
6. Tip half into your lap. The other half, just throw up in the air.

You are now ready to feed a nine-month-old baby.

Lesson 9
Learn the names of every character from Sesame Street, Barney, Disney, the Teletubbies, and Pokemon. Watch nothing else on TV but PBS, the Disney
channel or Noggin for at least five years. (I know, you're thinking what’s 'Noggin'?) Exactly the point.

Lesson 10
Make a recording of Fran Drescher saying 'mommy' repeatedly. (Important: no more than a four second delay between each 'mommy'; occasional crescendo to the level of a supersonic jet is required). Play this tape in your car everywhere you go for the next four years. You are now ready to take a long trip with a toddler.

Lesson 11
Start talking to an adult of your choice. Have someone else continually tug on your skirt hem, shirt- sleeve, or elbow while playing the 'mommy' tape made from Lesson 10 above. You are now ready to have a conversation with an adult while there is a child in the room.

This is all very tongue in cheek; anyone who is parent will say 'it's all worth it!' Share it with your friends, both those who do and don't have kids. I guarantee they'll get a chuckle out of it. Remember, a sense of humor is one of the most important things you need as a parent!

Baby Update

I know it has been forever since I have posted anything. Nothing significant has been happening here. I got the flu a couple weeks ago (during my birthday :() and was bed ridden for 5 days! I feel so bad for people who are on bed rest. It was a long week with lots of movies and books. Luckily I was blessed with a wonderful husband who took 4 days off work to take care of me. I had an ultra sound this week that showed the baby was measuring big, so my OB said that she will take it no later than March 13th. So only 3 more weeks! I am getting so excited! I love thinking about what she will look like and how the kids are going to act with her. It is going to be so fun having another little baby. Hopefully I can learn how to keep up with everything. Other than that, nothing new. We are just anticipating lots of family visits in March and then a long Utah trip in April! YAHOO!!! We haven't been to Utah for awhile and I can't wait to just go to my mom's house and relax. Here is a picture that Brynlee took of my belly to show how big and ready I am to have this little baby. I hate when you get to the point that your maternity clothes don't even fit and you have to resort to wearing your husbands clothes. Oh the joys of being pregnant!

Jason had to work New Years day, so it was just me and the kiddos. We spent most of the morning putting away all of the Christmas stuff. It got to like 50 degrees, so we decided to head to the park and let Skylar finally ride his new bike. The kids thought it was so cool how the ducks at the lake walked around on the ice. While we were there it dropped like 15 degrees and was freezing, but the kids still had a ton of fun.

Merry Christmas!We had to stay in Denver for Christmas, so it was just our little family. The kids seemed to have a lot of fun. Brynlee was so cute explaining to Skylar how it all worked with Santa and everything. She was concerned that Santa wouldn't come because Dad was still awake when she went to bed. But don't worry,he did. Christmas morning they played and played. We were able to talk to both Lewis and Candace which was really fun. Brynlee can't wait for Aunt Candace to come home! Jason and I got a WII for Christmas. We have had a lot of fun with it! And...with the Christmas money from our parents and grandparents, I get to go buy some baby stuff!!! My amazing husband made a big Christmas dinner with the ham he got from work. It was delicious. I hope everyone had a great Christmas too!

Christmas Pictures and the Nativity

So we decided to go get the kids pictures taken to send to Grandma's and Grandpa's since we won't see them for Christmas. We didn't want to spend a ton of money since we figured we would do that when the baby is born. We found a killer deal at Olan Mills, so that is where we went. Holy Cow, I was disappointed. We had our appointment at 6:30 and we didn't even start taking pictures until after 7:30. So, the kids did not look as nice as they did when we had first got there (especially in the hair department.) But, after they were all done, I think they ended up pretty cute. Plus we got a free 8x10 for having to wait so long.

Brynlee did not want to get her picture taken. Sky has scratched her face the day before and she had been worrying about people thinking she didn't look cute. She was a really good sport. As for Skylar...it was like pulling teeth to get him to stay still. Overall, it was quite the experience.
I have been trying to find a way to teach the kids about the birth of Christ. My sister Nicole told me about this website with the cutest clip art. It is www.pccrafter.com. I ordered some clip art and found a couple of stories in some past Friends (a poem, a story for young kids, and a story for older kids using more of the scriptures) and laminated everything. I throw some magnets on the back and this is what it came out as: The kids love it. Brynlee has me read the story over and over again while she puts everything where they are supposed to go. Anyways, check out the site. It has some pretty cute things.

This week as been great in our home. Skylar has finally quit drinking a bottle! I know, I know. You are probably wondering why a 2 1/1 year old would still be on a bottle. We were asking ourselves the same thing. Well, last Saturday night, Skylar was drinking his usually chocolate milk in a bottle and he throw up. He automatically assumed it was the bottle and milk that made him do it, so right then and there he told us "No more baba's, they make my belly hurt." We were like "OKAY!!!" Then Sunday morning we woke up and had him throw them all away and he has not ask for it since. I am so glad that we have accomplished this before the baby is born. Now if he can just convince him of sleeping through the night. Or how about the potty training thing...

Wreath Recipe & The Friend

My friend Kami had asked for the wreath recipe. I had actually just googled it yesterday and kind of made my own from the different ones I saw. So here if how I make it:
You need:
1/2 cup of butter
3 cups of miniature marshmallows
1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon of almond extract
green food coloring
4 cups of corn flakes
red hot candies (or another red candy)

I made it in the microwave, but I am sure you can do it on the stove too, just like rice krispie treats. First, in a microwave safe bowl, microwave your butter until it is melted. Then add the marshmallows. Cook in increments of 45 seconds stirring every time until they are melted. Then add the extracts. You can use all vanilla if you want, but Jason and I are big fans of almond extract, so we add it to a lot of stuff. Then add the food coloring. Make sure you make it a deep green because once you add the cornflakes, the color will lighten a lot. Then add the cornflakes. Make sure to just coat them so that they don't get crushed. Cover a cookie sheet with foil and then spray with Pam. Then just plop the mix by the spoonful onto the cookie sheet and shape into wreaths. This recipe doesn't make very much, so I did 6 medium sized wreaths. Cover with red hots and let stand until set. I hope you could follow that. I am obviously not cut out for writing recipes.

Also, I don't know how many of you get the Friend magazine from the church. I have to admit that I get it and the first thing I do is give it to Brynlee to look at and she will just come tell me the stories she wants me to read to her. And every now and then I will look for a FHE lesson from it. Anyways, the December Friend had a really cute advent calendar called "Stories of Jesus, Tell Them to Me" where it gives you a scripture for every day in December that tells a story of Jesus. It also gives a picture from the Gospel Art Picture Kit to be used with the scripture. If you don't have a Gospel Art Picture Kit, I would highly recommend one! I use them for every FHE and every primary lesson I give. I think visuals are always the best way to go for young kids. If you don't have one, I believe the pictures can be printed off of lds.org There is also a chart with a picture of Jesus and all of the scriptures listed on it. As you read the story of Jesus, you color in the scripture. Anyways, I just thought I would share this fun easy way to help your kids learn and be reminded of our Savior this Christmas. Surprise for Dad

Today was a fun day with the kids. We made Christmas wreath treats and snowflakes and decided to surprise Jason and leave some treats and the snowflakes in his office. The kids thought it was so much fun to sneak in there and leave everything. Luckily he wasn't in his office at the time, but he spotted us while I was loading the kids in the van. The kids were pretty excited to show him what they made. I have to say that I love this time of year!

Thanksgiving

We had been planning on going to Utah for Thanksgiving, but at the last minute decided to stay home and not drive the 7 hours. We had a really nice long weekend full of lots of yummy food and a TON of shopping! Our first attempt at cooking Thanksgiving dinner turned out great. The only thing we did not make was the pie. We left that up to Village Inn.

Seriously, I am way behind on blogging. October was full of a long trip to Utah, Jason and Brynlee's birthdays (yes, I now have a 5 year old!), and Halloween. I will have to take sometime to post some pictures soon. I just wanted to write a quick not and let everyone one know that last week we found out we are having another little girl. We are pretty excited and already have a name and everything. She is measuring 10 days bigger than my due date, which means either an early delivery or a giant baby like our Chunk Monk Skylar was. So...who knows. All I know is that I hope she is a good sleeper because I am one tired mom!

Jason and I have been married 6 years today! We have had so much fun these 6 years. We have 2 beautiful kids with one more on the way. We have owned 2 homes (which I really, really miss because this apartments is too darn small!) I love being married to such a great guy. He makes me laugh when I am mad (which really annoys me sometimes.)He does the dishes everyday! He cooks dinner most of the time for me so it is one less thing I have to do. He is such a fun dad and the kids just absolutely adore him. I have loved these last 6 years and can't wait to see what adventures are to come. I love you Jas!!

First experience with Modge Podge

I went to Michael's yesterday to get my kids some kind of Halloween craft. (I know it is early since it is not even October yet, but we have already decorated my house. Sad I know!) Anyways, I wanted to make a picture frame to put a picture of them on Halloween last year. So I bought a frame for $1, a piece of Halloween scrapbook paper, and some Modge Podge. This is what I came up with (picture is really blurry):
So those of you who have used this before, I need some help. What is the best way to get the air bubbles out? Also, I had a really hard time going around the corners. Any ideas? Other than that, I think it turned out pretty cute for less than $2.

Friday night was not a good night at the Hancey's. Jason walked into our bathroom to find this:

I was not happy. I always knew that she would eventually do it because every little girl does it. But not this bad. (The pictures don't even do it justice.) So Saturday morning Brynlee, Skylar, and I head over to Cool Cuts for Kids to see what they could do. They recommended that it all gets evened out so it will grow back even. I could not decide. I loved her hair long. But, I guess it would grow back. When they were done, it didn't look great, but she was excited about it. Here is how it looks now:

The other day Sky and I were home alone and he was in my closet. (I don't know why, but my kids love to play in my closet.) I hear him call me and I go in there and this is what I find:

He had climbed to the very top shelf of the closet! This is not the first time he has attempted this, but is the first time he has made it to the top without me hearing a crash of toys falling from the shelves in his closet or Bryn coming to tell me that he is doing it. Sometimes I have to wonder if this kid will last to be ten. He is so reckless for a 2 year old. He thinks it is so funny to try to carry the dog by the tail even though he ALWAYS ends up getting chewed on by Wall-e or doing summer salts on our metal framed futon even though he ALWAYS ends up with a big goose egg on he for head. But, you got to love him!

Labor Day Weekend

We made a quick trip to Utah for Labor Day weekend. We had fun even though I realize now that 7 hours of driving is a little long for a weekend trip! We got to my mom's on Friday evening and dropped off the kids and Jason and I headed to the Marriott for the night to get some much needed sleep and to celebrate our 6 year anniversary a little early. On Saturday we headed over to Sheena and Isaac's house for the afternoon to play. They made a little fire in their fire pit for the kids to roast marshmallows. We got to see my little niece Cami who is now 7 months old. So cute!

Saturday night Nicole, Russ, and Dallin came over for a BBQ and we played Ticket To Ride. Sunday morning we headed up to Logan to see Jason's dad and Stacey and the kids and Trisha. We went to lunch and Jason and Trisha took the kids to the park while Stacey cut my hair.

Sunday night was my Grandma Jenkins 80th birthday party. It was fun seeing ll the cousins. All of the grand kids and great-grand kids sang a couple primary songs. Then we watched a movie that my cousin April made. We also ate...ALOT. I didn't bring my camera to the party, so I borrowed this picture from my cousin Rachel. It is my Grandma and dad and all of his siblings.
After the party we went back to my parents house. The kids had so much fun with Dallin. Wall-e loved Dallin too!

It was a fun trip and we were sad to leave.

Big News...

We are expecting baby Hancey #3! I am due March 20th. This pregnancy has flown by and the more I try to get ready the more I realize that I don't think I will ever feel prepared to be out numbered by my children. But, people do it, so I think I will survive. I have felt pretty stressed trying to find a doctor here in Colorado. The girls in my ward have been very helpful in helping me decide. I had my first appointment today. Brynlee is super excited and really, really wants a baby sister. I guess we will see. I just hope that Skylar will be sleeping though the night by the time the baby is here!

This is not a picture of Baby Hancey. I just like to look up and see how the baby is growing. So cute! Being pregnant is pretty fun.

When did life get so busy?

Well, I guess it's my fault. I know alot of you can relate to this. All I can say is the Twilight Series. I started it the week that Breaking Dawn came out, so I didn't have to wait at all. Pretty much when I get into a book, I am pretty useless. So that is my excuse for not blogging. Not much has happened since my last post, and I hate to admit, but I didn't take one single picture since then. My mom came to visit for a week which was really fun. We went to Water World while she was here. That place is so big! It was almost overwhelming. Plus it was freezing! The kids didn't care though. It was sad when she left :(. Then there has been the Olympics. I have loved watching it and have stayed up way too late every night that it has been on. It was so fun to watch every gold that Michael Phelps won! Then my parents and my Aunt Vickie came down for a quick visit. When they were here we took the kids to the zoo, which Brynlee loves! Other than that, my life has been pretty much them same. Now I am just busy catching up on everyone else's blog.

Estes Park

Yesterday we took the kids up to Estes Park. It is about an hour away from our house and everyone we have met here has says how neat and beautiful it is, so we headed up there. It was such a nice day. We walked along the river and checked out the local shops. It reminded me a little of a Jackson Hole and a little of Park City. We will definitely have to take my Mom up there when she comes to visits in a couple weeks.

Happy 4th of July! Since we are new here, we were really unsure of what to do today. We decided to go to a park by our house. They had a couple vendors set up, but it was mostly people who had been there ALL NIGHT to get a good spot for the fireworks. Plus it was really hot, so we decided to go see the movie Wall-e. We thought Skylar was old enough to go see it, but we were absolutely wrong! Pretty much I sat out side with him for more than half the movie.But, what I did see of it was pretty dang cute. I love the Disney/Pixar movies. They had a preview for a really cute one coming out that I am excited to see. Well, I hope everyone enjoyed their day.

New family member

We got a puppy the other day. (Not my idea, I am not really an animal person.) Jason really wanted one and he had the kids convinced that they did too. So, I gave in. His name is WALL-E as in the new Disney movie. His is a Bichon Frise. He is only 3 months old and weighs about 7lbs. He has been very calm since we have had him and he LOVES Brynlee. The house training has gone very well with only 1 accident since we have had him. We are really excited to have him. Brynlee has been sleeping by herself and even cleaning her room with NO HELP! I love it! It has turned her into a new little girl.

Yesterday Skylar turned 2!!! I can't believe how big he is. This has been such a fun age. He is just talking up at storm and he surprises me everyday with how much he knows and understands. He is so into trucks, airplanes, trains, and motorcycles. It is so fun watching him play with his trucks and make all of those noises that little boys make. I love how he talks. My favorits is "Nonalds" for McDonalds. Whenever I ask what he wants for dinner that is the response I always get. And he loves his sister. Well, actually he loves his sister's toys. The funniest is when you catch him playing with his trucks in high heels and a crown. So cute!

And of course, yesterday was also Father's Day! Brynlee was so excited to sing in church. She had me curl her hair all cute and even asked if she could wear some makeup!

I am so grateful for Jason. He is such a wonderful dad to Bryn and Sky. You can just tell how much he loves those kids. He would do anything for them (as in anything they want him to...he is such a softy!)I love you and thanks for being so great!

Also, I have such an awesome dad! He gave us such a great childhood! He never yelled and was always calm whenever we were in trouble. And now, what a fun Grandpa. Brynlee loves going to take the newspapers to get recycled or going to the dump (probably because he never makes her buckle up!) I love you Dad!

I can't believe it has almost been a month since I have posted. I thought I better give an update on what is going on in Colorado. For Memorial weekend we didn't do much. Jason and I had to speak in church that Sunday which is always fun. It actually wasn't that bad since no one was really there for the holiday. On Memorial Day we went down to Colorado Springs (which is a beautiful place) and went to the Cheyenne Zoo. This zoo was crazy. They built it up the side of mountain and the view was beautiful. It was a lot of walking up hill. The coolest part of the zoo is that you get to feed the giraffes.

Well, I got a new job doing payroll which I love. There is only 5 of us in the whole company, so it make it pretty nice. We also have been doing some pretty fun things around Denver. I took the kids to Hammond Candy Factory (as seen on Food Network) to watch them make the candy. The kids thought it was great, plus you get a ton of free candy. Jason's boss also gave us a bunch of free passes to Elich Gardens, which used to be Six Flags. Jason actually took them when I was at work to go to the water park there. (I know, brave huh! I would have NEVER attempted that by myself.) Then I met up with them after work to go on some rides. Today was pretty warm. I took the kids to Jason's work to try out the new soft play. Then we went to run through fountains at the Westminster Promenade. I thought my kids would love it, but I was wrong. They were scared to death. They would run over, stick their hands in and run back to me. This pic was taken with my phone, so it is kinda fuzzy.

Last but not least I just wanted to tell my parents HAPPY ANNIVERSARY. They have been married 28 years (I think). They are such a great example of what a marriage should be. I love you guys!

We just got back from a fun trip to Utah to see my brother return from his mission. He served his 2 years in Vancouver, British Columbia. He looked a little shocked when he came down the escalator, but after a couple days he was back to his regular self. It was fun to see him. He has never met Skylar and Nicole's son, Dallin. By the time we left, Sky and him became pretty good buddies. We also got to spend a day up in Logan with Jason's dad and sister and her kids. Overall it was a pretty fun trip and we were sad to leave!

My mom made a sign with a really cute saying that I thought I would share:
"A Missionary leaves his family for two years so those he teaches can be with their families for eternity." So true! So if anyone knows of any girls he could date, let me know. Just kidding Dan! (but not really :))

Mother's Day at the Park

It was hard being away from family on Mother's day. Everyone at church kept talking about BBQ's and parties they were having. My family still made it fun. They let me sleep in until 10 which was like heaven. Then Jason made a huge breakfast and put a roast in for dinner. At church, Brynlee sang with the kids in sacrament meeting. I love that she is old enough to do that. When we got home, Jason made a nice big dinner for us. After dinner we decided to spend the evening at the park and let the kids play and ride their bikes. It was great weather and the kids had a ball.

I am so lucky to be a mom to these wonderful kids! I love them so much!!!

I just wanted to tell my mom how great she is! She has been one of my best friends my entire life. She is such a great example to me as a wife, a mother, and a friend. She has such a strong testimony and love of the gospel and it shows in everything she does. She loves to serve, and that is one of my favorite qualities about her. She loves her family. It is amazing how you never realize how much your mom truly loves you until you become one. I love you mom! Thanks for being so amazing!!!

I also wanted to say that I have such a great mother-in-law. She has raised a wonderful son! (Haha! Since he does so much housework and cooking! :)) I am the only daughter-in-law and she treats me just like she does her own daughters. I couldn't have asked for anyone better. I love you Lindy!

Denver Zoo

Mondays are Jason's days off, so yesterday we decided to go to the zoo. It we a perfect day. The weather was beautiful and there was hardly anyone there since it was a school day. The zoo was gigantic! We were there for like 6 hours and we didn't even get to see everything. They have this neat restaurant there you can go eat at in the air conditioning, which was a nice break. They kids just loved it!

I cut Skylar's hair yesterday. I have never done this before. But since our hairstylist (Jason's sister) lives far away now, I decided I would purchase the clippers and do it myself. He actually did pretty well. It's kinda uneven, but hey, I am a beginner.

Last night at Target we bought the kids some finger paints. We went home and let them try them, and they ended up with paint everywhere! Skylar even tried to eat it. So this morning, Jason gave the kids the paints in the tub. What a great idea! They had a blast.

Today was the first time in out new ward. We have sacrament meeting last which is something we have never done before. I took Brynlee to Primary and Jason was in charge of Skylar and nursery. Bryn begged me to stay with her. So I did for a little while. Her teacher was great and made her feel comfortable and then she motioned to me that I could leave. So I went to Relief Society. There was a whole 6 people in there and only 2 members of the presidency. Right as the lesson started, I get a tap on my shoulder from someone in the Primary Presidency telling me that Brynlee is having a rough time. So I walk out and in the hall was Bryn with her teacher and Brynlee is just sobbing uncontrollably. Nice. So I go with her into her class. On the way to sharing time I see Jason in the hall with Skylar who is asleep. (Church is at one which is normally his nap time.) Jason tells me that someone from the nursery came in and told him that Skylar would not stop crying. Geez. What a great first day! In spite of that, everyone was really nice. Some moms told me about a group that goes to different parks every Tuesday, so I am excited to take my kids and meet new friends! The ward does not have that many people in it which I am not used to. We had like 8 people in the entire Junior Primary. And in sacrament meeting, the room looked like it was a holiday weekend with hardly anyone in there. Anyways, the worst part of church was in Fast and Testimony meeting. It was that 30 seconds between members coming up when everyone is silent. Well, Brynlee let out a huge toot! Everyone looked right at us. It was so embarrassing. Then she says "Mom! Can you smell me! I stink!" Gotta love that girl. So lady like.
And last but not least... Barbara sent me a picture of all of the girls at work on my last day. I just had to post it. It's amazing how you are forced to work with people you don't know and in the end they become some of your best friends! I miss you girl!!!

Spark People

If you are interested in getting healthy, Spark People is a pretty neat website. Jason and I found it last year, but I think I am actually going to try it this time. We are doing Biggest Loser in my family and the final weigh in date is July 4th. I haven't done much, so I thought I should get started :)! Wish me luck!

***Side note - Yesterday was beautiful here. It hit 79 degrees. Bryn and Sky were in shorts and tank tops! We woke up this morning to snow with a high of 40!!! What random weather.

I got the frames for $2 a piece at Wal-Mart. I think it turned our pretty cute. I think it would be a cute idea to put different paper behind it to coordinate with whatever holiday it is. I love it!

My Mom's Last Day

Monday was my family's last day here. We decided that it would be fun to take the kids to the aquarium. This aquarium was so neat. You would walk into the different rooms and it would be like you were in a different part of the world (ex: the rainforest, the desert, the middle of the ocean) and it show what fish lived there (or other animals). It was really large too. The only other one I have been too is the one is Salt Lake which we all thought was pretty lame. So we were really excited. The even had a restraunt that had a shark tank in it. They only served fish, so needless to say we did not eat there. Afterwards we all went home and took naps. Then we went to Boondocks (were Jason is working). We did go carts and laser tag. Brynlee blew through like 40 tokens in less than an hour! Bryn and Sky think that there dad has the coolest job ever. We got home and put the kids to bed and played cards for 4 hours! We love playing cards. Well actually games in general. We played cards till 1:30 or later ever night that they were here. The last night, we stayed up till past 2:00 and we had to leave for the airport at 4:45. Everyone was pretty tired! I am going to miss Sunday games at my Mom's, especially Ticket to Ride which is like the BEST game ever! Anyways, that was a pretty lenghy post, so I will wrap it up. Enjoy the pictures.

Just a quick post because it is 1:30 in the morning and I need to get some sleep. We got to Denver yesterday at about 7:30 pm. We left at 11:00, but stopped and took a 2 hour lunch! The kids did so good in the car. My mom drove with me in the van and she was a huge help! She brought 16 new toys with her for the kids (one for each of them for each hour they were in the car.) She has lots of experience with this from when she drove with me and my 5 siblings to Utah! So really if we stop for gas once and just drive through for lunch, we could have made it in 7 hours or less! The funniest part is that Jason was driving the 26 foot Penske moving truck and could only go 60 mph. Lew and Ty (my brothers) drove our other car and I told them to stay with Jason and that me and my mom would just get the kids to Denver as fast as we could. So for like 4 out of the 8 hours, they were driving 60. So at like 5:00 I get a call from Jason saying that he had found the turbo button and was now only 60 miles behind me. I asked him what happened and he said that the truck had been in over drive the entire time and when he turned it off he started going 75!!! HAHA!!! They didn't get in till about 9. Anyways, we are here and un packed. My mom has been a huge help and has done most of the hard work for me. The weather here is beautiful! Well I am off to bed. Tomorrow is the last day before my mom and brothers fly out on Tuesday! I am going to miss them. Well goodnight!!!

It's been a while...

I haven't posted forever! Almost a whole month! Well, I don't know who knows already, but we are moving to Denver. Jason got a job there and we are so excited. They flew us out there last weekend to check it out and we just fell in love with it. It has the beauty of Utah, but the city life of Arizona (that I have missed a ton since leaving) We are leaving next Saturday. So maybe after that I will be better at posting. I am so nervous of being in a new place with no one I know, but I am so excited for the fun new adventure that awaits my little family. We will miss everyone!!!

One tough cookie

So, on Friday morning, Sky and Bryn were taking a shower at my mom's house. They had a bunch of toys in there with them. They said that they wanted to get out, so I went to get them some towels out of the closet down the hall. When I was getting them, I heard a loud crash and then Skylar started screaming. I ran back in there and saw him laying on the floor of the shower. I picked him up and blood was running down my arm. Bryn said that he had slipped on a toy and fell. I looked at his head and there was a cut about 1 1/2 inches long and it looked deep. I got him to calm down and my mom and I decided stitches would be required. So we took him to instacare. While we were there, he was running wild like nothing even happened. They called us in and they told us that they were just going to use staples because it was faster. All the nurses and doctors came in the room to check it out. Skylar was not happy when they did the shots to numb his head. They actually had to call in reinforcements to hold him down. It took 2 doctors and 2 nurses. (They were also shocked that my 22 month old son was weighing in at 33 lbs!!!) He screamed the whole 3 minutes it took to get the staples in. I cried too. It was so sad. He ended up getting four staples that he has to keep in for 7 days.

He has been fine since. Running around like nothing even happened. He is the most wild and hyper kid I have ever seen. He never sleeps or naps. He just goes, goes, goes. I hope he is not this out of control when he is a teenage. Yesterday we found this shirt at Walmart and we just had to get it (even though it is the understatement of the year!) We love our little Chunky Monkey!

Disney on Ice

On Thursday my mom and I took Brynlee to see Disney On Ice Princess Wishes. It was so much fun! We have been to one before, but this one was a lot more entertaining. I haven't posted for awhile and I saw on Brittany's blog a post about how her kids names came to be, so I thought I would let you all know if you were ever wondering.

BRYNLEE DAWN
When I was pregnant with Brynlee, Jason and I were actually set on the name Brittany. A couple weeks before we had her, we were at a Dr's appointment and in the waiting room was a book of pictures of kids that he had delivered. One of the little girls was named Brinley. We instantly knew that was the name we wanted. But, I didn't love the way Brin looked by itself, so we changed it to Brynlee. It is amazing how popular the name became after that. Dawn is actually Jason's grandpa Fullmer's name, except he spells it Don.

SKYLAR JASE
When we found out we were pregnant with a boy, we could not for the life of us agree on a boys name. A couple of weeks before we had him, Jason and I had taken Bryn to The Fun Park (a little arcade place in Logan). While we were there I heard a lady yell to her son "Skyler" to put his shoes on. I fell in love with the name. I told Jason and he liked it too. We went back and forth on the spelling a million times. We finally decided that so many girls were also being named Skyler with the "er" spelling that maybe we should make it different and go with "ar". Still to this day I am iffy about the spelling. But oh well. Jase is obviously from Jason, but I didn't love the way Jason sounded after Skylar, so we just shortened it.

OK, so maybe not a nerd, but she is so cute! She use to be pretty good on our desktop, but she has just recently learned to use the the little mouse pad thing on our lab top too! Now she wants to get on every night. I know, I know, this is probably not a great habit to teach her, but the websites she gets on are pretty educational. (thanks Sara for the Star Fall one, she LOVES it!!) It is just so sad how fast she is growing up! Don't you love how she is pantless and how she kicked over the shreader and just left it like that.

Not so Happy Birthday to me!

Well, I am kind of embarrassed to tell the following story because it makes me look a little bit like a dummy, but oh well. My birthday was on Thursday, so yesterday, my parents took the kids for the night and me and Jason decided that we were going out. The plan was dinner at The Coppermill, then shopping a little bit to blow some birthday money I got, and then to see Fool's Gold. Well we went to the restaraunt and I ordered a tenderloin steak, which is what I always order. We were eating and talking and having a good time when all of a sudden I put a piece of steak in my mouth and I felt it slide right down my throat. I thought "OH GREAT". For those of you who know me well, I have a tendency to choke on my food really easily. So, I start gagging. Jason kept asking me if I was ok. I figured that since I could breath and pretty much talk, that I was ok and that it would just eventually go down (unlike the time at work!) Well, I kept gagging and (this is sick) kept spitting up saliva all over my napkin and Jason's napkin. I kept apologizing to the family next to us and they said that they were fine and they were just worried about me. I figured it would be nice of me to move my situtation into the ladies room. Jason decided to go with me in there, which got us some weird looks. I guess he figured if I choked to death that he wanted to be there. So, it was not getting any better. I tried to throw it up and nothing would come. Then I would try to swallow and it would make it so I couldn't breath. We decided to go home. Jason paid and got our food and we left. When we got home I went into the bathroom to try to get it to move either up or down. I got no results, so Jason called IHC and they said to come in. They admitted me to the emergency room and got me all hooked up to the machines. I felt so stupid, but the nurse reasurred me that they see this kind of thing all the time. They put some esophagus relaxer in my IV and made me drink some water. They told me that the medication would make it go down, but nothing happened. After about three tries, they told me a GI doctor would have to go in and remove it. So I waited for what for what seemed like 3 days (actually it was more like 40 mins). The worse part was that everytime I would gag, I would pee a little. Now that was humiliating. They finally moved me up to surgery and put me under. When I woke up, I could swallow! They told me that it was definetly stuck and that it was associated with all of the esphogas problems that I have (acid reflux, GERD, weak sphintor). Anyways, I am now back to normal and will probably not be eating steak for awhile!

My dad called Jason and told him that President Hinckley had died. What a sad day for everyone in the church. He was such a wonderful man and truly an example of how everyone should be. Very happy, kind and Christ-like. He will truly be missed!

Treehouse Museum

I am home today with 2 sick kids just waiting for 12:15 to come so I can get them to the doctor. So, what better time to post. Last Saturday my mom took us to the new Treehouse Museum in Ogden. It was so much fun! There is all sorts of things to do. Bryn loved to be in the baby nursery and pretend to be a nurse (white coat and all!) Sky just liked the fact that he could run wild and touch whatever he wanted without getting in trouble. My sister, Nicole, came with her baby Dallin. When we got there, she whipped out this long piece of fabric and wrapped her son up in it and tied it around herself. I wish I would have know how to do that when my kids were young! Anyway, here is some pictures...

Momentous Occasion

Jason is out of town, so tonight I took the kids to dinner at McDonald's. While we were there, the kids were playing while I was reading. All of a sudden I hear Bryn say "Mom! Look up here!" I look up and there is Brynlee AND SKYLAR at the very top! I don't know how he climbed all the way up to the third story. I told her to bring him down so he didn't get scared (and so I didn't have to climb all the way up there to get him.) She said OK and then I heard some laughing. I look and Bryn had gone down the slide. As I was about to ask her where Sky was I see him FLYING down the slide screaming with laughter. I can't believe he went down the big kid slide all by himself. Geez he is growing up so fast! He got off that slide with so much pride. He came over and gave me a high five, and then turned around and started climbing back up. Such a momentous event!

Jason's Dad got an electric drum set for Christmas from his girlfriend. Skylar thinks it is the greatest thing ever. We just stick the earphones on his ears and he can bang on it as much as he wants and we can't hear a thing! It's awesome. We can't get him off of it (except when he occationally thinks he needs to go hit his sister with one of the sticks!) Now I know what Santa's going to bring him next year.

Christmas was a blast this year. The older the kids get, the more fun we have. The Sunday before we Chrismtas, we had our Davies Family Christmas party at my Mom's house. We had fun and ate lots of yummy food. Santa even came(which was really my Dad).

We spent Chrismtas Eve with Jason's family. The kids got to open a ton of presents from their Grandpa Bart. They had a ton of fun!

The night before Christmas, my kids did not sleep very well, so we were really tired on Christmas morning. But when they saw all of their presents, they were excited!

So, I wanted to take some pictures of my kids in their Christmas church outfits to send to their Grandma Lindy who lives in Oregon. I thought it would be a piece of cake. I was wrong. I should of had Jason do it, but oh well. I will have to take more on Sunday. The funniest part is that the outfit I got for Skylar, who is 18 months, is a 2T and the collar was still too small to button up around his gigantic neck! He is one thick kid!!! So, no cute tie. We don't really have much space in out little living room to put up our tree, so we bought the kids a little 4 foot tree with plastic ornaments to decorate it with. We decided on plastic because Skylar thinks that the balls are actually baseballs. He pulls them off and chucks them at everyone!
